I find most of my inspiration in history, nature, and folklore. The Snow Queen, as beautiful and deadly as any blizzard, is a figure that has long fascinated me. I first had the idea for this project more than a decade ago, but at the time felt that I could not do it justice. I studied historical fashion and honed my skills in designing and actual craft.
The headdress is inspired by the ones worn by the women of the Rus tribe; note the beaded temple rings. The dress itself is part medieval queen, part Vegas showgirl. I think it suits her scheming personality.
